Hello all,

I'm rebuilding a unit 500 head for a street bike and wanted some feed back on this. I have read that the cast iron guides are better for the street and last longer? Also I am seeing a few options for bronze such as MAP cycle, KPMI and Steadfast cycles.I see people say KPMI is best but is not very DIY because they need to be honed to fit. Can Anybody chime in on these bronze guides and your experience or recommendation?

Thanks

Cast iron lasts better than phosphor bronze on my 650.

There are more modern aluminium bronze guides available and people swear by them.

Thanks for the reply, are the more modern aluminnum bronze guides you are referring to made by kibblewhite by any chance? I know their guides are nickel-aluminum bronze.
