Hi All! Long time rider, first time Triumph owner here! Just picked up a 2013 Bonnie over the weekend and cannot be happier. Previous owner bolted on a lot of great upgrades and it is a cool brat that will be the perfect urban romper for me. I am just outside of Washington, D.C. and will be exploring the cycle scene here as the weather gets warmer.

What makes this bike cool is that my father grew up riding and racing brit bikes, so this makes everything come full circle for me.
Congrats and welcome! Picture?

Hi all,
I purchased my 2010 Bonneville in September of 2020. (coincidentally on the same day I received my motorcycle license... and totally unplanned...)

Going from the 150cc Honda I rode on during my motorcycle training course to 850cc was quite the jump, to say the least. But she’s been good to me so far! Though she’s pretty darn twitchy in the first two gears.

I’m fortunate to live near some nice, windy/scenic mountain roads, so that’s where most of our time’s been spent. (And in empty parking lots for some low speed drills).

1,400 miles instill enjoying every moment of it!

Here she is:

Hello!

There's a lot you can do about the twitchiness. Go thru the forums and you'll find lots of ideas, some of which are low cost and easy to do.

I adjusted my idle speed higher on my stock 2016 T100 and that helped with the throttle lag.

Later, I swapped out the stock exhaust for BC Sleeper exhausts and the lag just about disappeared, even after I returned the idle to normal. Plus the sound is now awesome...

Appreciate the tip Sslots!
I've definitively been doing some digging around the forums and this seems to be a pretty common issue. So much information on these boards! :)

Cheers!

Hi all and hello,

Wandered over here from the Classics forum. I've just added a 2015 T100 to my 72 T100R and 73 TR7RV. Whilst I love my classics and having done total re-builds on both, the fugitting of anno domini means that having an easy to use electric start bike when I need to nip out for an hour has become highly desirable. The classics will still be used, but if I need to nip out shopping, particularly through traffic, means that I don't have to go through the carb tickle and kickstart routine at the head of a queue of traffic if I stall it.

Just been out for an essential trip to get some eggs, so the first 15 miles under my belt.

First impressions? Smooth, powerful, excellent handling, hard seat and the bars are a little too stretched out - so need to look at that. Any suggestions? Don't like the Givi top box it came with - may have to go for a Craven.

It's no lightweight either - putting it on the centre stand needs technique and effort - even my TR7RV only needs a light tread down on the centre stand and up it goes.

Pics of all 3 below. You can see why I went for the cranberry and black.

Good morning everyone. New to the forum, not to riding. Got some riding in last summer on my 2013 Scrambler and decided she's a keeper. Looking to make some changes to help with ergonomics. While it's an aftermarket seat, it hurts my arse, and the cafe racer handlebars make my hands go numb. If you can point me in the right direction for some of these solutions it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! New to the forum and new to Triumph, I'm a relatively new rider, but quite old. I've just bought a 2003 T100, had it just one week.

It's appears to have been utterly adored by previous owners, and is pristine with only tiny miles. And it seems to be made up of as many parts from Tec and Baak as it is from Hinckley. I only have a couple of pictures so far, but these are them:

Not new, but I guess I'm back. I have a 2006 Bonneville Black that I bought new off the lot. Haven't ridden in much in the last few years, been busy with other things. Looking to get back into it a bit more. My bike is mostly stock, but I do have the Triumph king and queen seat, and a few other bolt-ons.

Hadn't been here in a while, apparently my post count was reset with a forum migration? Anyway looking to research and do some of the things I had contemplated 10+ years ago. Suspension, exhaust, etc. I guess I need another 5 posts to see the classifieds since my post total reset. Cheers

Time for me to go . . . see you on the other side, maybe.

The faithful and fun ten-year old T100 is gone. Sold. Departed. The new owner is very pleased with it. He's upgrading from a 790cc America.

I've acquired a "different but same" replacement -- a 2018 Speedmaster.

My wife spotted it in the garage immediately but quite a few people haven't noticed that my previous black and white, gold hand-striped Triumph has been replaced with a different black and white, gold hand-striped Triumph.

I mostly lurked here to find useful info and see all the different ways people enjoy their bikes. I expect that now I'll lurk and sometimes post on the water-cooled cruiser forum . . . so maybe I'll see you on the other side.

First post to the forum. Joined a few years back after buying a '14 Speedmaster, but sold it a year later. Failed experiment to get my wife to ride with me... Picked up a '14 Bonneville (cast wheel) with 125 miles on it a couple of weeks ago and this one I'll be keeping. I've been riding since '74 and this Bonneville is, for all practical purposes, my first British bike. It joins six other street bikes in the garage (i have a very understanding wife...). Previous owner bought it, but broke his leg a few weeks later playing basketball and never really rode it after he recovered (3 surgeries).

Lower bars fitted along with the Dart windscreen that came with the bike. Slightly longer Hagon shocks on order, and will be adding a bit of preload in the forks along with Race Tech Emulators. Original (2013 date code) tires will be replaced with Conti Road Attack 3's in stock sizes. I may be going the F3 fork tube route to raise the front end a bit for more clearance. 3rd ride on a bumpy road had my left boot scrape, even with the old tires. So if anyone has some F3 fork tubes that they decided not to use, please shoot me a pm. Thanks!

Picture of the other bikes. 3rd one ('77 GS550) is gone, making room for the Bonneville in the garage.

That's a beautiful bike. I'm on a 2001 Bonneville. Finally some of the original parts are giving up the ghost but the forum whether via new posts or just rummaging through old posts has most of the guidance needed to do my own work. I don't have the gusto to do my own engine but chain, cables, carbs, battery--all that's well covered here.

That's a beautiful machine (ridden--I like it) and I love your quote. Out of the box thinking requires being out of the box for increased capacity for innovation.
