I'm almost 90% sure that screwing in is richer and out is leaner. My nose is telling me the same. However I'm reading conflicting stuff on the internet... could someone please clear up the following on carb twins:

1.) idle mixture D-screw adjusts the air amount not fuel?

2.) turning in = less air = richer

3.) turning out = more air = leaner

Thanks so much!!!

On CV carbs the mixture screw controls fuel, idle air is fixed by dedicated jets and passages.

Unscrewing or turning anti-clockwise increases fuel quantity.

Hello, as Mr. Forchetto stated.

Out / CCW = richer
in / CW = leaner

Basic rule of thumb :
More than 3 turns out from lightly seated and you should move to one size larger pilot jet.
Less than one turn from lightly seated and you should move to one size smaller pilot jet.

Hope that helps.
