I am thinking about chroming my wheels on my S3. How do you think it would look? I think the chrome would give good contrast to the yellow. But not sure.

Chrome wheels = bling bling. Depends on what kind of look you're trying to create.

I have chrome wheels on my antique 1999 S3.

It's cheezy as all get out, but I'm attracted to shiny, sparkly accents. I think a lot would depend on how the rest of the bike's done. Doesn't look so good on the yellow, would probably look killer on the black or roulette green, as long as the other detail stuff was done right as well.

polish the lip of the wheel would look cool IMO. my buddy had an 02 gsxr1000 with chrome wheels and it look perdy snappy.

i love my red wheels but i've been kind of itching to refinish them in the bronze i redid the wheels on my car with (see below)..

i just have no desire to remove the nice powdercoat

Here's my load. Wheels were polished at first but that became too much work to keep up so I had them chromed. Frame is polished (only exterior)

My opinion: Chroming sport bikes is even out for the inner city kids riding in tee shirts, sandals and army helmets. It simply looks gawdy.

The bike already sets itself apart from the crowd looks wise. No need to cheapen the look of it. Spend the money on something more useful. It will also lower its resale value because only a small percentage of potential buyers will be attracted to it.
