HI everyone, my name is Adrian and I have a 1999 Legend. Went out for my first ride on Sunday, ran over something on the way home and put a hole in the sump. I've taken off the exhausts and it appears that the back two screws of the sump are obscured by the suspension link. Haynes says to use an auxiliary stand or hoist. If I didn't need access to the sump I'd support the engine on a block and jack. Any suggestions or thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks Adrian.

Can you support on the sump to release the drag link arms and then lower the jack until the suspension bottoms out?

i recently did my thunderbird sport, i put a jack under the engine to hold bike while i removed lower shock bolt and lower link bolts, , i then removed the rear oil pan bolts then pushed bolts back in links so i could use rear paddock stand to hold bike while i removed pan, if i remember correctly i may have swapped the bolt head to a different style so i wouldnt have to remove suspension next time,
