Took my 900 up the Stelvio in italy last year 2750mt, sweet as a nut engine wise, but bike too heavy for these sort of passes, but still worth it for the views & achievment.

higher elevation mileage

This past august I took a trip from the great lakes region to salt lake city in utah via s dakota and wyoming. Gas mileage decreased as altitude rose with a noticeable loss of power. I have a 2002 1200 trophy with about 27,000 miles on it. We never got much over 10,000 feet but anything over 6000 ft or so affected fuel consumption.

I believe the jetting is stock on my bike and seems to be a bit rich, even for home at 700 ft above sea level.
