Hi I read the post about the breakaway cruise control and was really interested in getting one as I do a heck of a lot of European touring in summer.

However they don't ship to the UK.

The alternative dealer site they offer as a link page for UK shipping Doesn't exist ( www.CruiserCustomizing.com ), however it does show several more brakeaway models for different bikes.

The problem I have is that the reference numbers for the parts don't cross reference. So I was wondering if anyone could help me work out which one I need.

Better still if there's a Breakaway UK dealer reading this perhaps he could tell me.

Thanks Jon (UK)

Why don't you just email BrakeAway? They are a helpful bunch and I'm sure you can all figure out something.

The US model for the Bonneville is 6CB03-04.

You will find that your right arm will feel much more relaxed even though you are still holding the throttle and making just slight throttle adjustments to meet the road inclinations. In heavy traffic though I turn it off, but once things open up, it goes back on.

There have been a few times when I had to instinctively grab the front brake and it is a VERY nice feature to have the cruise control just turn off without thinking about it then.

At first I had to keep on making adjustments to the catch spring because it would work for so many miles but then start having the cruise lock come unlocked by itself. I found what the setup problem was and added lock washers to the two small screws that hold the spring once I had it adjusted right. That was about 5 months ago and it has worked great since in all kinds of weather.

Anyway, if you have any questions once you get it, feel free to drop me a note. I hated to spend $200 for just a cruise control but I am so glad I did in getting a safe one that works great.

A BrakeAway is going on my Bonneville right after I change the grips.

I'll be using the same one I bought for my Speedmaster in '03 and then transferred it to my Sprint ST in '05, and now it's going on the Bonnie. In other words it has a lot of "adjustability" built into it. You'll like it.

The fact that you can release the cruise control simply by grabbing the brake is the key feature in my opinion.
