Hi all,

New to this forum and happy for any support or advice here.

I am currently in the process of importing my Triumph Scrambler EFI 2017 from California to the UK. Scrambler was originally purchased and registered in California.

I have everything ready to be cleared with HMRC and NOVA etc however on the gov.uk link it says I also need proof of vehicle approval before I can register it with DVLA.

Does this mean the Scrambler has to undertake the Motorcycle Single Vehicle Approval (MSVA) scheme to approve my motorcycle or can I obtain a Certificate of Conformity from Triumph and just complete the Partial MSVA protocol? Or is there another way?

Anyone with any experience of completing this process? Any advice would be great as its an absolute nightmare.

Thanks,

Manc

Take it for an MOT test . Just this year I bought and registered a bike imported from Italy with all paperwork ( proof of year of manufacture from a specialist club recognised by DVLA ) and lots of photo's from all angles including frame and engine numbers on top of proof that all taxes relevant had been paid . Filling in the V55 form was a simple job made hard by questions on the form not being needed ( catch all for every vehicle 2 wheel to 8 wheel ) . Long wait thanks to covid as Swansea only on short staff .

I had to modify my headlamp as the dip was to the wrong side of the road . My bike is nearly 40 years old and though UK headlights are available can be more than I want to pay . A little black electricians tape over the asymetric beam sorted this .
