Recently picked up a brand new '19 Speed Twin. One of the best decisions I've made in years. Not new to riding but it had been a while. 3rd bike I've owned. Sold my last one due to hard times then spent a number of years traveling international for work so I never had the time to shop for another ride. Finally settled down a bit and was toying with the idea of getting another bike for the last couple years then finally just said "screw it" one day late last year when I got totally sick of sitting in traffic.
The plan was to head out on occasional afternoon rides and to take the Mrs out on weekends for a bite then eventually teach her to ride, but low and behold... she charged right into it and just got a bike of her own- an Indian, but don't hold that against her. She's a foreigner and just loves all things American. Fair enough.
Been riding when I can weather permitting and daydreaming about mods and warmer temps. Watching the forecasts like a hawk and detailing the Hell out of her. It's like being reborn.
I've got a few hobbies and interests and I must say that along with the pet owner community, the motorcycle community, esp. the Triumph sect, is about the friendliest and most helpful out there so far. They're somewhat similar mindsets. Enthusiasts take a genuine interest in the scene. IMO most "cliques" are full of a—holes with various hang-ups and something to prove. It's been very refreshing.
Anyhoo, that's me. Good to be here. Looking forward to the tips and advice, and even helping out where I can.
Cheers!
