My bike came with the stock and gel seats but its an 03 so I cant comment on the 05+ seats.

Impressions: Gel = Firmer but seems to be lower, if that makes sense. Longer rides seem to be nicer so far 2+ hours

Original = Firm, but seems like your sitting on a 2x4 after 2+ hours in the saddle. I switched out to the Gel to see what it offered and havent put 4+ hours in the seat on the original yet.

For the 05 Bikes I cant say that this will translate to the same experiences.

I too have a 955 S3, so this may not help at all. I've been on Corbin's on the older models, and I was not impressed. I really don't understand what all the hype about Corbin seats is. I've heard great things about gel seats, but I've been told that they can get really hot if left in the sun. On the other hand, anything gets really hot when left in the TX sun...

I like my Corbin, given the limitations of it not allowing space for a tool kit or the T grab handle (however, I ground out space for that). It is comfortable over a longer period that the stock seat by far. You should consider the Sargent seat. I hear almost nothing but raves about it. Had I to do it over, I would have tried Sargent first.

Gotta give a plug for the Corbin, since I've gotten mine it's been pure heaven on the nads..the stocker is comfy but the slope just forced me forward unmercifully, the Corbin fixed my minor gripes and just feels superb. As was mentioned you loose on the underseat space to put the Triumph tools and using the T-bar seems to be out.

I've only got a stock seat but in other threads a lot of people say the gel seats really soak up a lot of heat sitting in the summer sun. That would be a deal breaker for me living in SC. Might not be quite such a big deal in Syracuse.
