Are there any good tank knee pads rather than pay the $65 for OEM? Also, how do they attach, are they just adhesive, or magnetic, or what (in case I decide I don't like the look of them).

Also, has anyone done a fuel petcock replacement (huh huh huh, I said pet*****) after changing pipe, removing airbox? Does it make and substantive difference?

As always, thanks for your insight folks...

I've seen some knee pads from some other companies but they look pretty much exactly the same. The Triumph dealer I was at the other day also had two styles of pads, one with the horizontal lines and "Triumph" in the middle, and the other set were Triumph parts and looked pretty much the same but had a different texture in the middle.

I switched to a Pingel because of stickiness in the stock Triumph one, but the stock one flows enough fuel for five triumph motors- do it for esthetics sake, or smoothness. However, be aware that you have to do some alteration of the opening to install a Pingel.

I have a Pingle petcock! (Sounds like I'm auditioning for a porn movie.) I did it for the aesthetics. No doubt Pingles "pass more gas" but the stock valve is more than adequate even for a heavy breather (can't keep away from the porn). But the stock valve looks awful. BTW you need to enlarge the hole in the tank with a round file to get the Pingle to fit. I suppose some one will accuse me of building a chopper rather than a caff racer as the Pingles are certainly not Brit bike bits. Incidently I also have a chrome (choke) knob!
