Any advice on this one ?
Went to start my '97 Steamer, turned on petcock and has massive fuel leak from carbs / airbox. OK I thought - time to replace the 'o'-rings in the float bowls like I did on my '98 D12 last year. But the D12 has Mikuni carbs, the Steamer has Keihns. Is it likely to be a similar problem ( hardened 'o'-rings ) or should I check / replace abything else. I'll fit new float-bowl gaskets on re-assembly. Thanks in advance

Thx for reply JJ - Possibly. I cleaned out the float bowls ( not too bad ) operated the floats etc, reassembled and set the carbs upright on a bench. Topped up with fuel a funnel placed around the fuel feed, and no leaks!
I'll fit them back onto the bike and repeat with a greater head of pressure from the tank.

My guess is that the needle valves were stuck with some gunge.... or, if they weren't gunged up, they are worn and will need replacing.
