I've just dismantled my T90's front fork legs in preparation for installing new sintered bronze bushes and oil seals. It wasn't until I was cleaning up the various components that I realised that the black plastic "damping sleeve" has a stepped bore. I have no idea which way round they were fitted onto the stanchion or even if it's important. (Or for that matter, what its function is). The exploded view in the parts list doesn't show it in detail and the Triumph workshop manual makes no mention of it at all. Could anyone tell me which way around they should be fitted, please? Thanks. :)
