Sorry for doing this Mare, but I'm in high spirits and believe there'll be no more bashing of any kind here. It's the holidays guys... come on. Let's try and NOT have another thread locked this time.

I wanted to reply to Hivel's original thread regarding Triumph "riders" vs. Harley "owners".

If I'm not mistaken, Honda's US club is called the HRCA, for Honda Riders Club of America, no?

Plus.. "Owners Association of Triumph" would spell OAT. Not something cool, like RAT. :-D

you're right, you have to go with what sounds best, oat ?naaaa, rat is much cooler. luckily wiyh this language you can come up with many different words to get the same idea across and still have a cool name.

When I bought my first Oilhead in `93, I received complimentary one-year memberships in both the BMW Motorcycle Owners' Association and the BMW Riders' Association.

It appeared to me that the MOA had many more meets while the RA had many more rides...

(My bad.... I sorta went off on a rant in that other thread.)

"Rider", "Owner", "Poser"........ CLUBS. I don't do 'em. Membership to any group consisting of self-made wannabe elitists can be likened to fools screaming at the top-o-their lungs at a favorite football team on the television. Just put me down as simply not understanding it......

Besides,
why would I want to share the company of bitter cynics who believe as I do:

"I sent the club a wire stating, Please accept my resignation. I don't want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member."

Hey, guys .... have a great holiday! We may fuss a bit with each other every now and then, but we've remained a really tight group. My Triumph wouldn't mean nearly as much to me as it does without this forum and all the guys and gals on it. The best to all of you during the holidays and during the upcoming New Year.
