I had originally planned to install the dresser bars on the ST, but I don't really like the way they look. I bought a pair of GSG frame sliders that use the same lower engine bolt that the bottom part of the dresser bars fit on to.

I was thinking mostly of protection if the bike is dropped, but now I'm wondering about the stress on that bolt and the threads on the frame if I end up going over at some speed. Also whether I'll just catch the slider and flip over. As a new rider I'm looking for some sage advice.

The frame sliders I mounted on a Suzuki V Strom also bolted up to an engine mount. I don't know how the Triumph is set up but the engine mount bolt on that Suzuki is one very long bolt that goes all the way from one side to the other.
The frame sliders came with a new longer bolt to accommodate the sliders.
