Fork gaiters install 2012 Bonnieville

This may sound like a silly question. Has anyone tried to install fork gaiters the old school way of the early triumphs by removing the front wheel and fender and sliding the gator over the front fork legs into place I always replace them that way on my early triumphs unless I need to pull off the front end for some reason. Also has anyone cut off the plastic fork leg protectors. Just curious I really don't want to take off the front end of my new bike to put on gaiters but I will if I have to:D

The wheel, fender and forks will have to come off to install the gaiters. You can read all about the fitting process by downloading the instructions at the link below.

Enter the Part number A9638018 in the box provided: http://www.triumphinstructions.com/

The cost is around $45 at places like this or your Triumph dealer: http://www.newbonneville.com/html/fork_gaiters.html

Once you have the front wheel and fender off, It's just the two pinch bolts on each side to slide the whole fork out.
