I just installed a K&N filter on my Triple. Instructions say to remove rubber gasket from stock filter and install on new (K&N) filter. What gasket?? My stock filter didn't have one!
Am I missing something or are the instructions as bad as the filter fitment? Runs better, especially on top end but I'm worried I'm sucking dirt and dust!

Yes it does-look closer. It is kind of like the question you ask a girl- "Do women have chest hair?" She says "No" You say "look closer!"

It is there and i had to peel mine out with a little spike tool to put in the K&N. The BMC filter already has one installed. Take your time and get your glasses on with lots of light.

HiVel-When it stops raining dawgs and cats I'll get out my old man reading glasses and go look AGAIN. If it's there I'll be shocked though. Gazwire-it's half of a Jardine slip on with a mid pipe fabricated from part of an old Suzuki SV exhaust system. Glad you like it. Gets rid of that "fat arse" look that the dual cans give (bet that'll stir some folks up!).

Aura -it is there! just look at the top of your stock filter around the outside edge-it is about 1/8 inch wide and is a one piece black rubber deal that goes all the way around the filter. (the top is the side that does not have the perforated metal backfire shield on it)
You need to find it and put it on your K&N! It will "snap" in when you get it going around the edge.
