Hi all, I have a 2006 Scrambler fitted with TOR, s and I think 115 jets.
I will need to change my air filter soon, and was contemplating replacing it with a foam type i.e. Unifilter or a UK PIPERCROSS type.
Do you think they are worth it, as in performance gain, do I need to re-jet or should I stick with the Triumph stock paper type.

Thanks Gavin :)

Pieman has recently posted some graphical results which show the differences and improvements in air flow for particular filters.

See Post #57 here: Filter comparison

As far as performance gain goes, they will make no discernable difference whichever you choose.

The beauty of the foam filter is that its an easily cleanable, effective filter which, if treated correctly, will last a long time.
Likewise with K&N.

The OEM paper filter is fine while its clean, but is throw-away when its not.

Unifilter gets my vote.

PS...... No rejetting required!

What I missed out in that thread was the conclusion. Best flowing at the top.

1) DNA
2) OEM Paper
3) Uni
4) K&N

The difference between the DNA and the K&N is roughly 1.5 jet sizes. So although the difference isn't great, if you're running 120 mains, going from a K&N to a DNA filter will enable you to run 122 or 125 mains depending on whether you were a tad rich or lean on 120's. I believe the DNA is the most expensive, but you only have to buy it once.
