Can anyone tell me if the fly screen for the bonneville t-100 actually does anything? :???:

It does take away the buffeting on your chest and smooths out the wind around your face. I ride with an open face and really like the fly screen.

yeah, right with you Big Rick, I think it punches a hole in the air, makes riding a bit easier on the neck, and some shelter from wind, bugs and rain. I certainly notice the Scrambler without a screen is harder work in windy conditions, and I get more bugs - so much so I'm gonna remedy that shortly.

I just installed one on Saturday and found that it reduced the wind on my chest but forced much more to my shoulders and neck, which resulted in greatly increased wind noise. For reference, I'm 5'7" and wear a full face Arai Quantum helmet. The jury's still out as to whether I'll keep it.

I have the same problem with the Dart flyscreen. I'm also 5'7", and the screen directs the airflow into my full face helmet. Too much noise, so I removed it. If I sat a couple of inches higher, it would probably work for me. The Dart//T100//me just aren't a good combination.

However, I have a National Cycle flyscreen on my W650, and it works beautifully. Not because it is much different than the Dart, but based on the different instrument mounting location on the W, I can lay the screen back a bit, so the air flow is directed at chest level, not at my helmet.

My bike currently has the "ACE" bars installed, and unfortunately, they do not leave any clearance for the flyscreen. The cables totally get in the way.

Is there a kit to swap in a set of clip-ons for the Bonneville?

Thanks.

Hey KF6VGF,

Beautiful bike, but - are those creases in that jacket? C'mon, you didn't really press the jacket did you? :-D

Dennis

Uhh....I don't even know how to iron. My collar is blue, and I use industrial strength detergent to clean my work clothes!

It's a Frank Thomas textile/leather jacket. I think an iron would melt it.

So how about someone answering my above question...

In case you missed it:
