Late 1969 T120R, I've got the back wheel off trying to get to the bottom of my no speedometer issue. While I'm at it I want to replace rear brake shoes. How does one remove the brake anchor plate retaining nut? Turn the nut and the spindle turns, I've been mulling this over for an hour and I know it's gotta be a simple thing. But I haven't come up with it yet.

I was right, it was simple. Harley guy up the street came down, looked at it and started pushing it out the brake anchor plate side. "One side is fixed." Yep, simple. Replaced the brake shoes with Ferodo, have got the speedo drive unit all set up and will get the chain properly adjusted. Can't wait to get it out tomorrow. It's nice to have an experienced motorcycle guy around, friendly & willing to lend a hand. Great stuff.
