Hello Everyone,
First let me say , what a great forum and a contributing factor in the purchase of my new 06 Sprint ST (Blue). I picked her up last weekend (4th Nov.) and can't get the*****-eatin' grin off my face. I have now done about 600k's and it just keeps getting better. Also thanks heaps (dolson) on the advice for engine run in - Lapping - it was a great help as this is my first bike with zero k's on it. I also have installed the 'after market' silencer on her and what a sweet sound it makes, I now look for hills and on the downward run , roll the throttle off and listen to the buuuurbles and pops - FANTASTIC!!!!!.
Anyway - Great Forum - Good People - Talk to you soon

Hi BallaRAT_ST1050 and welcome to the forum,

Is blue the faster colour? Can anyone help?

Nice bike BTW.

My only suggestion would be to not have an open face helmet. You'll get bugs in your teeth because of all of the smiles.. :-D

Congratulations, BallaRAT_ST1050! Good luck with the new steed. I've never had a new bike, but hopefully will one day.
I currently have an RS but am finding myself lusting after the 1050 ST, although other outgoings prevent an upgrade for a while. Quite fancy the new Tiger too! Has anyone else upgraded rom a 955 RS or ST to a 1050, and care to let me know whether the improvement is worth striving for?

welcome mate, I know the Ballart area well (had an ex from Snake Gully, but thats another story). Hope you enjoy the new Sprint as much as I have enjoyed mine. What other extras are you going to get? If you are looking at panniers the Trumpy ones are good but the Givi top box is better. If ever you are going to tour little old Tassie let us know and we will show you the best bit were the Tasrats play. Also the police are fair, and we don't have that prick "Bracks" here. Anyway enjoy your new bike and ride safe.

Congrats on the new bike! But I think silver is the quickest color.
Oh a bite at the colour remark. I knew that I'd get one!!

Hey BallaRAT_ST1050, when did they stop spelling Ballaarat with a double aa?

I can tell you from experience since they let me test ride the slower red one that blue definitely is the fastest color. I bought the faster blue one in July and I have had that same grin on my face since then.

Hi all, thanks for the welcome. As for the colour vs speed question - we all know that they go just as fast as each other - it's just that the blue looks better and when you look good you ride faster !!!!!! ( just joking - I've never had a blue bike so that what I chose).
G'day to all the Oz-Rat's and 'Tankman' you are a brave man - the girls from Snake Valley can be pretty dangerous.
And your right 'Bracks' and his Vic Police henchmen have no tolerance for mis-calculations in the speeding area.
As for accessories - I have fitted the TOR exhaust with no retune at this stage , all seems OK , and a great addition.
Thinking of getting the 2 pannier system @ $1300.00 less 10% discount from dealer but I just don't want to mess up the lines / look of the bike just yet.
Also looked at the GEL Seat but will wait to see if the '07 seat fits on the '06 bike - they have redesigned the profile.

Ride safe - over and out

Another Aussie here. We seem to be a reasonable presence. Quote below is from the Triumph web site. So, does Australia list the panniers as standard on the 2007 model?

I'm asking because I'm not in Australia right now and plan on buying one when I return in December.

I also note that they expect both rider and pillions backside will be in better shape after a ride.

(that goes for the pillion too – we’ve made their seat even comfier). The balance tips in favour of two-up touring on the 2007 bike with lockable, quick-detach panniers as standard.
