I'm all set to advise the dealer to go ahead and prep my new 2006 SM, and then have it shipped out to me...one more question for you folks, if you don't mind. Factory alarm is $450 USD, and I have been contemplating having it installed, but before I do, what is the concencus here on the alarm system? Anybody got one, or know of someone who does, who has any issues with it? How about the good things about it.
Thanks much

I have Triumph alarm.
It is Datatool alarm actually, take a look http://www.datatool.co.uk/

So it is actually not specially designed for tiumph, it arrived with triumph logo on the package but inside it was fully Datatool :)

I have had one problem, the remote didn't work so i couldn't turn the alarm off to start the bike. i was messing around with it ~2 hours. Then i put the remote close to the alarm unit and the alarm turned off. That has happened to me only once (10 000km) and i assume that something interfered radiowaves coming from the remote that time.

Alarm has shock sensor, move sensor and immo quite simple.
Then you have possibility to program code sequence so you can turn alarm off even when you have lost your remote. Then you need to turn the ignition on and off according to your secret code.
