OK - the side stand has always been a little fiddly to get down, but after swapping from an old pair of touring boots to race style - well... that b****** is really impossible as the heel armour stops the heel from making contact with the protuding knob. I'll attempt to extend it with some heat shrink rubber tubing as that may provide more friction.

Anyone else solved the short knob problem? (No plastic surgery tips purleeze) hehehe.

just get your heel under there a tad more. you'll get it. :)
actually i thought about dipping the knob into some liquid rubber for added ease. (don't even say it)
the part that i was bummed on was the spring, it has gouged my leather pants and boots pretty badly.

Had the same problem so i had a bit of fuel line in the shed and cut it to suit and clamped it on with a small fuel line clamp, works great. You could also then put a bolt in the end and clamp it on too but i did that and took it off because i didn't like the idea of that coming off and flying down the road. :hammer:

Saw this in a review of the boots....

The Vertigo Corsa's heel protector is the one wart on this particular boot design. The three-stage shock absorbing heel cup is fabricated from three different density plastics, with the outermost layer being a ribbed transparent rubber-like cup that attaches to the heel with a pair of screws, allowing for a range of adjustability. The angle of the heel protector makes grabbing a sidestand tang problematic on some bikes, but these super-boots are designed for a racetrack environment in which kickstands are usually tossed.

OK - update. I put a short length of heat shrink tube over the tang with 5mm protruding. Now the rubber grips onto the armoured heel piece and allows you to sort of flick the stand out. YAY.
