Have any of you guys purchased or considered the extended warranty offered to cover the bike after the initial 2-year warranty runs out?

Everytime I get a car I get one and every time it has paid for itself usually toward the end of the ownership period.

What are your thoughts when it comes to bikes, I'd especially appreciate it if you long term owners chime in. My 2-year is up on March and I'm giving it serious thought.

I expect to hold onto my S3 for at least another couple more years..it's been almost 2 and she only just feels broken in and somewhat loosened up. plenty of life left in 'er.

well that's always a hard one rude, it's just like f'n insurance. Hate to spend the money on it, but it can well pay for itself. How much is the extended warr? That would have alot to do with it. The 1st and only brand new bike I've ever bought(my 99 R1), I purchased a 4 yr extended warr for like $520. Well, come 2 years and about 21k miles later I was riding a wheelie passing my brother-in-law on his new 01 750, and pop, I heard this very loud noise that sounded like sumt'n hit my bike. Set the wheelie down, the motor does not sound good at all. Pull off and she's rattlte'n and clank'n but still running. So to cut it short, she somehow broke a coupla teeth off of the crank. I'm not sure what the total damage was, but the total cost of that repair was like $2900, completely covered under my ext warr. :-D 6 months later, tore out 3rd gear, again covered under warr. :-D That $520 was the best $ I ever spent.

I've got the same dilema. I thought of getting 07 in March when my warranty runs out. But I dont fancy Green or Black. White looks cool in the flesh. I called Triumph and after a chat with the warranty department have decided to keep my Yellow 05. I'm not aware of extending warranty her in UK so I will ask next week....
