i am looking for a new exhaust can for my 955. after looking at the trident, it is clear that it is the best! however, i do not want to spend that much money for an exhaust can. can anyone recommend a close 2nd place?

Dave, I agree that Peter's cans are likely the best. Power wise the Triumph stainless off-road can (but, heavy) and the Carbon Can Company units are good seconds. These are what's on the two D955is here.

2Bros (on the RC51) is a pretty good choice. The C5 cans are alot louder than the C1s.

The Triumph High Mount Carbon Fibre can, do these items improve the note sufficiently to warrant the expense.

My 06 Daytona sounds just too surgically clean for my liking. A little more animal would improve matters.

Anyone have an opinion? Is the baffle removable?

Linz,

I have just fitted the Triumph carbon low-level silencer and just had the race can tune downloaded at the dealer and its FOOKIN AWESOME :upthumb:

Its a monster, popping and banging on the overrun and the noise is lovely. my mate who was riding with me today kept commenting on how good it sounded

Definitely not clynical, but there is no removeable baffle is definitely for off road use only.

A dealer in the United kingdom is selling brand new low level Triumph carbon cans on EBAY for £95 instead of £295 an absolute bargain but UK postage only im afraid. :(

Guys
you could do what I did and build your own underseat system. It is a lot of work but the sound and look is worth it.

I considered that option myself for a while. After talking it over with Wolf, their outstanding salesmanship won me over. :-D

It's so rare to find good customer service these days so I reward it when I come across it.

Doodledog,
the headers are the original Triumph ones, the rest was built from scratch. I had a carbon high pipe on her, measured the out put and then applied it to the one I built. One thing I thought about doing was turning the short Triumph oval carbon can on its side and fitting it up under the seat and back of the bike. Next year I am going to get back off the auto museum and Turbo her and I've also entertained the idea of putting a Harris frame on her. Anyway hope this helps and don't be afraid to try stuff for yourself, we are pretty smart cookies us Trumpy owners. Good luck and safe riding.

I fitted an Akrapovic Cabon Fiber can that I got new on Ebay for $119.00 about two months ago. I have seen them new on there now and then go for $375 to $90. I remapped the Sagam with my Tuneboy and it took a couple goes and then ran it on a Dyno at a buddies shop on off hours and we did as much as I dared at 2am.
I plan on retuning soon. But we ended up with only 119 bhp and
71.4 lb-f Tq. Mind you I have done other mods.

Good luck, You can find them out there for short money, if you keep looking and wait it out.

I had the Triumph Carbon Fibre High Mount installed today and the TOR tune applied.

I have to say, what an improvement over the stock pipe. These should come as standard :)

The trip home was extended, the rev range explored and the smile inside the helmet made it all worthwhile. This is what motorcycling is all about.

Love it.

I also just installed the Triumph carbon fiber high mount on my Daytona. I love the sound. All I could do right now is fire it up and rev it a few times in the garage. I'll have to wait untill the snow melts in the spring to take it out for a spin. I'll also need to take it back to the dealer and get the TOR tune flashed in. Is there any problem with running the off road pipe on the original tune for now?
