I recently noticed the center exhaust pipe was not evenly discolored like the other two. Since then I can now hear what seams to be an exhaust leak but for the life of me can't feel any hot exhaust leaking out.

Any body else have this issue or have any suggestions?

P.S. I just purchased the performance upgrade kit from Great Bay. so i figure when i install it I can remove the manifold as well and re-seal it. Any body know what kind of sealant to use?

Thx Tbird

1059 is right, there is a copper crush gasket that seals the manifold to the head, no need to add any type of sealants. Best advice though is to use Anti-sieze on the stud threads when doing ant type of maintence on the exhaust, especaialy on the studs comming out of the heads. Be carefull and torque the nuts on those studs to spec because you can deform the header flanges. Bigern

I'd been kind of wondering if the cat design wasn't the culprit. If I start mine up for a half minute or so the top right pipe is hot but the bottom remains cool. Since the exhaust is a 3:1:3 I'd think that the cat/collector flow would be the culprit.

Why? The copper gaskets are reuseable as i've already done during my tranny repair. Anyways, hope the stuff was O2 sensor safe!

big , i found the silcone when removing my manifold.. triumph put it there not me. good point on the o2 sensor contamination. it was clear in color if that means anything.. why would i want to re use the copper crush gaskets... i spend more on starbucks coffee in a day then they cost. i'm not going to do a custom exhaust and not replace a 1.50 part.

Boy...ya' make me out to sound like the cheap bast#rd  . Just kidding. I reused mine because i forgot to get some on the 120+ mile round trip to the dealer. Sorry about misunderstanding your previous report on the silicone on the gaskets. I'll graciously accept one of these... :kck: .
Clear color is not a good indication though. I believe most O2 safe stuff is black, but there may be others. That dealer surely deserves a swift kick!
As soon as i can procure another digital camera, i'll post some picks of the paint job. Bigern

Well... Installed the TORS and CAT Bypass. Also put in a K&N aircleaner. Bike sounds awsome! Louder than expected but not obnoxious. I get a loud Pop if i let if get below 10mph in first gear when slowing down but I havn't gotten the Power Commander I ordered yet. I ordered it from http://www.buymoto.com $271 shipped which is an unbelievable deal, If it ever gets here. Ordered it on the 4th and have not heard from them since. Hope i don't gottta beat anybody down.
