dude on the scooter is lucky he didn't get clipped by the other car that was following as he was looking back at what just happened.

Looks like it was some sort of race event taking place which would further question the scooter's presence on the road.

After looking at the clip again, the scooter might have actually caused the crash. The car was fishtailing into the turn but may have avoided straightening up at the last second to avoid smacking into the scooter.

Well wishes for the driver.

Thats not a race. Thats stupidity. First, what type of car is it? a econo box.... not something most people would race. second.... its not setup for racing.... From what I could tell there wasnt a roll cage, stock exhaust (usually the first thing to go on a tricked car) and it was on stock wheels and tires (you can tell by the howl theyre a hard compound meant for high milage highway/commuter driving)

Dont get me wrong.... theres a time and a place for everything.... but judging by the traffic on that road.... that certainly wasnt a good place to try something stupid like that.... just a wannabe ricer thats watchs Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift one too many times

The car is a Peugeot 206, french made cars, found allover europe. I think this is a street race, youngsters with cars get togheter on a road like this and try to act as if they can drive. This guy obviously did something wrong endagering everyone around him.

They weren't racing, they were drifting, ALA Tokyo Drift. That was a total rear wheel lock drift, hence the squeel. Either way, I doubt it was "sanctioned" and ultimately stupid. While I agree seeing the scooter all of a sudden might have been part of the crash, it appears this road was NOT closed. Just a bunch of people being stupid...

whatever it was, based on the road spectators and the video footage, it was a semi organized even and not just someone out for a drive.

anyway, who cares.... I'm going out to ride my triple.
