Is it normal for the the left engine case / primary drive cover to get fairly hot during a ride.

yeah bro, TFH to touch sometimes. I don't have an oil temp gauge, but somethings are better left unknown in my opinion. If I had one I'm sure I would sit at a redlight, checking my temp and stressing out because my oil is at 245*F.

I think you can fry an egg in minutes on a good summer day herwe in Fla. Thank god for synthetic oil! W/O it here the engine would be toast! In NE semi probably will do the trick?
Thinking about it its time for a change now - the warm weather is a commin! :) :cool:

Dude, lookit all the bikes Motolink has. What're the odds that he really doesn't know how hot engines get????

The two CBRs are water cooled and dont get as hot and the 79 Bonne, well until it got stolen I never rode it as hard as the 01. But gee the 01 left side cover gets hot.
