yeah bro, TFH to touch sometimes. I don't have an oil temp gauge, but somethings are better left unknown in my opinion. If I had one I'm sure I would sit at a redlight, checking my temp and stressing out because my oil is at 245*F.
Have one on my thrux, never been above 210. I ride it hard, but when I cruise, about 170-190. There is a red mark at 250 on the gauge. My car runs about 190 too. I hear that with modern emissions and synthetic oils, engines run better and warmer than they used to. No expert though.
I think you can fry an egg in minutes on a good summer day herwe in Fla. Thank god for synthetic oil! W/O it here the engine would be toast! In NE semi probably will do the trick?
