Does anyone have some experience recoating the engine covers? Speedy slipped off the kickstand and the magneto cover is all scratched up. I am gonna lightly sand the scratches and either re-paint or powder coat, whichever is more appropriate. I was gonna dap some paint remover on it to see if the factory coating is indeed paint.

I am pretty sure it is powdercoat. If not, the parts I have powder-coated "semi-gloss black" sure look just like it.

Stove in satin black.
If you want to give the finish a lust, spray with clear lacquer.
