Other than powdercoating or painting, does anyone know where I can get the Emgo reverse cones in black? I like the look of the black predators, but don't really have the cash. Also, is it absolutely necessary to include the airbox elimination and other modifications with this? I'm not quite clear on the mechanics of how the airbox and exhaust system interact with each other. Please advise. Thanks

You can get by with just rejetting. I have the Predators and the stock airbox. It was just rejetted.

You can do as little or as much as you want. Like Bassman said just rejet. You just want to keep the air/fuel mixture correct, and whether you open up the rear or the front or both you change the air flow. Look and the Jenks chart for what you have, it's a good place to start. Also I did the airbox cut up as opposed to one of the vendor kits, a fraction of the cost.

I have the Emgo reverse cones and I have not heard that they come in black. I didn't do the airbox eliminator, in fact I didn't even rejett and the bikes run's great.
I am planning on adding a uni air filter and pulling out the snorkel so will rejet at that stage.
By the way they are pretty loud, probably not everyone's cup of tea but I am pretty fond of them and for the money you shouldn't be dissappointed.

get the emgos, a little sandpaper or a scotch-brite pad, and a spray can of high heat BBQ black spray paint, voila, black emgos.

What exactly is involved in a rejet? Is it something I should attempt if I am mechanically inclined and have the proper tools? What are the benefits of a rejet?
