First of all, thanks to all of you for posting the good, the bad, and the ugly here on the S3 forum!!

I did it!! Plopped down some $$ for the '05 S3 in Blue (which I love, despite the general taste for black - aside from cb in hickory  ). She's got 5600 miles and chicken strips on the stock Michelins at least an inch wide. Pazzo's, CRG mirrors, flyscreen, front & rear stands all came on the deal, which was a good one.

Got a few miles in on a Saturday test ride, despite the blistering cold, and found out that it's not all hype - that thing is MEAN. I can't wait to get it on the track...Hell, I can't wait for a warmer day! I'll see you all out there very soon - and I do wave at other riders.

If that was the one a Myers, it looked to be pristine. Excellent choice, the blue w/ the gold bits is very sharp. Give speedydave a bump, I just saw his w/ new gold bars etc., lookin very nice!

Enjoy her, it's been a little warmer making some loops in the foothills, still some sand on 9, 74a, 80, 126.

Cheers and Congrats!

Congrats! Blue is fastest no matter what anyone says. Did they deal with you on it at all?

What is cb in Hickory?
Yes - he was willing to deal, and I think I did alright...

cb is cheapbasturd, who it turns out may not be from Hickory - apparently I had his location confused w/yours!

Thanks BobW! And for the heads up on those roads. I spend most of my time on backroads where I grew up, north and west of Asheville (Madison/Haywood counties). Nary a law officer, ever :-D . I'd love to get a ride w/some folks as spring makes her way to the mountains!
