Hey everyone, I have a stock 2005 standard Bonneville. With Christmas around the corner, I'm looking to get exhaust pipes that will make my Triumph sound like it rolled out of 1970. I tried the complete bafflectomy, but that doesn't make much of a difference in sound. :(

Who makes an aftermarket loud exhaust that I can slap on the bike without having to cut, rig up brackets or hangers, or mess around with trying to make it fit?

From the research I already did I found BC predators and possibly TORS makes a muffler then can fit without changing stuff around. Anyone know anything about installing Burgess, or Emgo?

Other aftermarket direct fit brands would be appreciated. :D

Norman Hyde TOGA's will give you the sound you are looking for.

I love the Staintune teardrop muffler and the classic Norman Hyde are both awesome looking pipes. Both are also direct fit according to their websites. I'm more concerned with ease of installation and look more than anything. Staintune and Norman Hyde Tors doesn't seem to be a popular used product on ebay. :( Looks like I'll have to get out the credit card for these pipes.

I really like the sound and looks of the burgess style silencers sold by commando specialties. I found a pair pretty cheap on ebay that are supposedly new. They don't have all the brackets and such, but I'm going to send an email to commando specialties and see if they can sell me that stuff. If not, I may just dish out the 260.00 bucks to commando for the whole package. I really like the Norman Hyde Togas too.
Anyone have these burgess style mufflers? What do you like/dislike about them.

My Staintunes bolted right on to my 2005. I like them a lot, and people who might know (I don't) say they have that old-school sound, and they're not horribly loud. They were, however, horribly expensive.

Wow those D&D's so far are my favorite sounding mufflers. I'm not sure how I like the whole megaphone style though.

I replaced a set of D+D's with Dominator Touring pipes. Louder than stock, 20 minutes on and done. Much quieter than the D+D's.

P.S. I still have the D+D's if your interested. Send me a PM.

If you like the teardrop style of the Burgess/Wassell/Sprint mufflers then really, the Normah Hyde Togas or my favorite the British Customs Sleepers are the way to go. You WILL have to rejet your carbs regardless of what cans you put on. Cans to install are probably 1/2 hour.

Now I talked my wife into getting me some pipes for Christmas. She's on business in MN but when she gets back next week, I'll find out if she has anything lined up. If not, I'll send you a PM. Either way, I'll send you a PM letting you know if she bought anything yet.

Everyday you guys have been posting, I've been updating my wife with more info about what I like.

I'm getting new pipes in a few weeks ( waiting on a nice fat check to show up) and I went to Tri Perf USA here in L.A. and Carlos ran a bike with the Dominator Tourings on it... Sounded awesome... Not too loud but just the right amount of thump! I'd look into those too if I were you....
