Gimmick rubbish... these gizmos have been around for years, in various forms.
Got some oomph in your pipes? That's a better answer.
Stay off the roads at dawn and dusk. That's a better answer.
Deer are becoming a replacement for rodents in suburban and even urban areas; too few hunters, too many folks that think Bambi was a docummentary...sheesh I'm sounding pretty conservative here.
Anyhoo, no, the deer whistles are nae good.

KK,

IMHO, don't waste you money. I bought one of these, and I believe the claims are BS. With stock pipes on bonnie, I rode down a rural 2-lane rode with the Hornet Deer avoidance system on. I rode past a pasture with hundreds of goats eating within 3 yards of the roadway--they paid me no attention what-so-ever. Two weeks later I rode down the same road with some very loud silencers installed on bonnie. When I came to the area where the goats were, I noticed they began running to the center of the pasture while I was still a half mile away. I could see them in my rear view mirrors returning to the edge of the road when I was a couple of miles past.

Deer are dumber than dirt. But very tasty.
The loud horn from Brent usually works as long as you see the varmints first.

Hunt 'em, don't hit 'em.

What if you get a deer that is hard of hearing?

In Oz they have Shoo Roo to scare the road kill away prior to it becoming road kill. I've heard varying reports, unlike the deer that are hard of hearing!! :-D

I have about 5-20 deer around my house every morning/evening. They bed down in the woods and eat with the horses in the field. They get used to noises (tractors, mowers), so I'm sure these devices work well while they are an "unknown predator", but then the results quickly diminish.

Only some very close calls so far for me, but I am scanning for them almost more than for cages and gravel. ++++1 all the great info here.

O/T , tbagolfer, what can I say my friend, God Bless ya! :roflmoa2:  :chug:

I have noted that animals tend to hear my Sprint coming... IE, deer and all others animals I see seem to have already heaqrd me coming and are either already looking at me or are moving away.... ride in a higher gear in areas where animals are prevelent... in Maine it is deer. raccoon, skunk, turkeys, cats dogs...... whistles are junk.
