I didn't know Triumph made an RS in '99.

You definitely have to have a voltage regulator somewhere in the system. It keeps from overcharging the battery when the revs come up. On the RS it is inside the alternator.

I have shop manual for my '01. I'm not sure how to scan and send the wiring diagram to you.

The '01 and back sprints had a larger fuel tank/smaller airbox. '02 and newer had a smaller fuel tank/larger airbox.
The larger airbox breathes better.

triumphtimes lists an '00RS/Daytona engine as one of his current rides.
Maybe he's already figured out some things you need to know. He doesn't state which year Daytona engine though.
