Does anyone know of the newer Daytona engine will fit in the 1999 chassis? How about the 1050 Speed Triple motor? I threw a rod in my '99 955i and now need a new motor. Speaking of which, anyone heard of these motors blowing up? I didn't see the oil light or the temperature doing anything funny.

You know, BradTX would be a good guy to ask this. From just poking around on the dealer's showroom floor, it looked to me like the S3's frame was inline with the Daytona. Maybe a few altercations in mounting points, but it looked to me that the 1050 would fit a T595 or 955i frame.

If you do it, SEND pics immediately! With everyone whining about a new bigger-bore Tona....it would be great to hear your review!

Any 955 motor should fit. problems arise in the electrics, throttle body differences, air box after certain years. Do your research and you'll be ok. You should have a direct swap from 99-01 after that it can be done, but gets a little more complex than a swap.
