The FedEx guy dropped off the D&D exhaust late this afternoon so
after EvilSprint arrived from Denver, we had a go at installing the
cans.

This turned out to be virtually a mirror image of installing the
Triumph OEM silencer, so in other words.... a non event lasting
about 5 minutes. That's not counting removal of the stock can
and other bits that were done earlier today.

I had planned to write a detailed instruction, but this is so simple
none is required. I'll add a few notes with the pics. I didn't get the
bike back together as it was getting dark, so I'll post a couple more
pics of the completed bike in the morning.

They sound sweet. They're not quite as loud as the the Tridents I
helped install last weekend, and this should be welcome news to
those worried about D&D's well earned reputation for LOUD cans.
They have a nice throaty tone to them at all RPM's I tried. I'll take
the Sprint out for a fast run in the morning before saying any more.

Installed. The fender bracket (not shown) is not part of the install, and clears the cans by a good distance when attached.
In fact, I didn't remove my tail tidy for the install.

How it looks right out of the box. Mine are nicely polished aluminum, but black cans with polished tips are the other option.
It appears that the side cans can be loosened and turned in their cradle for a more Triumph like slash cut configuration.
Personally, I like them this way.

Workmanship appears to be top notch and install seems well thought out.

The D&D and Triumph stock exhaust attach in the same manner with a top bracket / bolt that fits under the seat.
Very easy to install, with no sticking points... And I like easy.

Holy crap. Very Nice. Please post pics of the bike reassembled.

What was your cost? Did you happen to remove the SAI system as well?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Completely hassle free and super quick install.
I think I even helped hold a clamp in place. :D

D&D claims that at WOT the pipes are only 18% (read @100dB) louder than stock.

Thanks for the opportunity to help out Tom...see you on the road soon.

They cost $538.00US total ( $514 + $24 shipping) from Ebay Motors
(StarCycle) I didn't remove / cap the AI nor did I install the no - CAT mid pipe. D&D said both would be ok. I plan to get the 20176
download this week.

How does the weight compare with OEM?
Weight is 5lbs less than the stock can. The D&D mid-pipe is 2.5lbs less
than stock. I may add this later.

Thanks for the opportunity to help out Tom...see you on the road soon.
My pleasure... Thanks for letting me help with the Tridents :)

Holy crap, where were those when I was buying exhaust.....

Those look absolutely amazing and with fantastic build quality.

geeez...... They also look like how the IXIL's bolt up. They take literally 20 minutes to install the first time.

Well that went well! Thanks, Tom for clearing my indecision as to which way to go with aftermarket exhaust options- I think you've pointed me in the right direction at last!

I like their idea for a 1 into 3 collector! Looks better than other designs and probably flows better. :D

In a Homer Simpson voice
"Hmmmm Shiney"

Anyone seen a UK supplier ?

PS notice an Aprilia SL1000 Falco in the background in that nice USA paint scheme - my last bike was a UK one....I thought it was the bees knees until I test rode my Sprint

I just mailed D&D to try and find a UK supplier

They gave me
www.starcycle.com

I pointed out that, P&P, VAT, customs duty and courier tax collection charges would make them VERY expensive - so I asked again if they had a UK supplier in the UK

They gave me
http://www.rollies.com.au/

What about receiving a "gift" from a private party? <hint hint, wink wink>
