Can anyone here recommend a silencer can (or two small cans) that would fit under the tail of an 02 ST with minimal modifications?

I'm hoping to just bend exhaust tubes (and weld a 'Y' connecter if necessary) to fit an aftermarket silencer(s)

Thanks in advance

I looked at doing that a couple of years ago and couldnt find a can that I felt would fit correctly or look right. However, thats not to say they arent out there somewhere.

Why not fabricate your own silencers, pretty simple really. Id also think that a Y would take up quite a bit of room and that a simple tee arrangement would work easier, but as I said, I havent studied it too hard. Some folks here have fabricated their own underseats look pretty cool really.

Good luck

Jhumphrey,

Thanks for your input.

Fabricating would be nice, if I had the shop  Unfortunately I am not equipped to perform such feats. In fact I was going to farm out the tube bending to the local metal shop. I fear to have them fabricate a silencer would be as, if not more expensive than buying an aftermarket.

I am kinda hoping that a D-675 exhaust might work, but am unsure about the physical demensions and volume size???

I have a slip on at home for a CBR600RR and I think that might be a close fit.
Sadly my buddy wants it back but he gave me a oem muffler with connector pipe (for the same bike) that goes down and attach to the header under the engine.
The muffler looks to big but the connector pipe looks good I'm thinking to cut it just before the muffler and bolt on another can.The pipe is 2" so it should be plenty big.

There was a guy trying to sell a complete '05 system in the classifieds a while back. I don't know what would be involved in putting an '05 muffler under yours as I've never seen a pre '05 in the flesh.

There are several people going with the offroad muffler so it wouldn't be too hard to come up with a stock '05 muffler. It might be worth a look as there isn't going to be much demand for a used stock muffler so it should be fairly cheap.

Kneedraggers.com has a Two Brothers pipe for the '05 & up listed. You can probably find demensions for it online.
