Allright, I've got one and am going to use it for the first time.

As long as the jack is under the frame, do I need to worry about the filter? I've got a 2006 Bonnie. I'm assuming that the filter sits high enough above the frame, that the jack wont push up on it. It that correct? Thanks.

You will still need to look under there to make sure.I have to angle my jack to avoid the sidestand mounts. My filter isn`t stock any more [Purolator]and it does hang down below the frame. Also, some wires and oil lines run along the frame,so keep an eye out for those too. They are usually above the frame rails, but you never know.

Now, what was it I heard about assuming...? :-D
J, one of the first times I used the $20 bike lift, I assumed the filter on the Speedmaster sits high enough above the frame.
I didn't do that again. :hammer:

I use a hydraulic lift that has two parallel arms. The oil filter is no problem at all but the side stand mount is. I put the front arm as close to the front of the frame as possible and take the weight and check before lifting fully. The bike lays slightly over to the right, not sure if the lift sags or the frame is slightly higher one side.
Be careful with the side stand switch!

Yes you will crush the oil filter. I have the Craftman lift
and I did just that . I crushed the filter the first time I used
it. What I do now is I place (2) 3/4" thick boards parallel to
the lift arms and, line them up with the frame tubes.
the filter hangs down about 1/2" below the frame tubes.
Here is a pic if you look carefully you can see the board
under the frame.

Ive been using Napa gold filters & they are clear of the jack. I got the jack oughta the trash & Crafstmen sent me all the parts to make it work for notta! Best deal I have had in a while? I gues there are filters that go below the Craftsman jack? The stock Triumph & the NAPA gold one I use don't tho. A decent jack for the $$. Make sure to use the legs tho! :hammer:
