2011 GT spewing coolant after bike is off

Bringing this thread back to life. 2011 GT here

Same issue. Temp gauge fine. Rode the bike a few times since the weekend. Shut the bike off and it's spews about a cup of coolant.

Coolant was at Max in reservoir. then down to below Min.

Started riding again and returned to normal in reservoir.

Replaced coolant a few years ago. 1 time over summer the high temp light came on and then never came back on again after i turned bike off and on.
Maybe air? will look for pinched hoses.

Anyone else?

What leads you to believe its the cap?

Thanks for the replies. Quickest, simplest, cheapest way to trouble shoot is with a new cap.

Cleaned the radiator cap really well which had some crud on it, nothing bad.

I called the dealer and they recommended to keep at or near minimum in the reservoir. They have seen where if you have at Max it will spew. I told them I have had at max for 5 years and no issues. Makes sense. Just like a car- hot and cold levels.

So I have it and the Mid point between Max and Min. will go for a ride warm her up and report back

If you keep at Min when cold you're good. Basically too much coolant in reservoir
