I've got a hairline crack in the frontmost bolt hole on the brake lever assembly. No biggie, but it got me to thinking about what I would do to replace it if it gets worse. Weld it? Try to find a stock one? Rearsets?

The only ones I see available these days are the LSL and Gilles. The LSL price isn't too bad. Anybody have 'em? Use 'em?

Anybody have a set they want to get rid of?

I have LSL, which I bought for getting a reverse gear pattern. But actually the ride position seems somehow more natural with the rearset. The only bad thing I noticed is that the aluminum pegs vibrate quite a bit more, but it doesn't seem too bad even with longer distances. Definitely worth the money IMO

From what I've seen, it looks like the pegs are solid mount, rather than fold-up. Dunno whether that's a safety hazard or not (I have solidly mounted pegs on the old BMW, but the cylinder head touches down before the pegs).

I have the LSL's. There's a folding peg kit available for it that I would consider a necessity. It would suck to lose several hundred dollars worth of hardware for a little tipover. IIRC the folding peg boss was like $50 extra.

I like mine, but if I did it again, I'd go for the Gilles - real adjustable foot position seems like a huge plus to me. Also, after the additional cost to get folding pegs, they're not all that much more expensive.

Most importantly of all, I could only find the LSL's in silver, and I know the Gilles can be had in black

My LSL is fold up, but it's really not an issue. The pegs aren't gonna hit the ground first anyway
I'm not particularly worried about the pegs grinding while I'm riding - heck I wasn't worried about that with the stock rearsets!

The folding peg boss has already saved my rearsets once when I tipped the bike over while parking it in my ghetto backyard spot though. Nobody's perfect, particularly me  . Folding pegs are cheap insurance on expensive parts.

I have Gilles rearsets too and I'm happy. The shifting is definitely much smoother than stock. They are also adjustable. The most forward and down adjustment feels a bit more agressive than stock but I like it...
