Does anyone know the whereabouts of any pics of a Bonnie with the alloy fork bottoms chromed? I would like to get mine either polished and lacquered or chrome plated. Can anyone throw any light on this? I have searched the forums and can't find what I'm looking for.
Any help appreciated

Search for Thrux-Ton-Up, I believe it is. He took the black off and polished it up. Looks good - like the older Triumphs.

If you want to see pictures of what GaryD did to his '03 bonnie, go to triumphrat.net photo gallery...original member albums...G-I...GaryD

He chromed the bottom part of the forks on his Blue/white bonnie about 4 years ago.

I'm in the process of swapping out my front forks, so I'm going to polish the fork bottoms also.

From what I remember from reading the original threads this is what you do:

Start with paint stripper.

Go to 400 then 800 wet and dry sandpaper to get rid of more paint and start smoothing up the metal.

Moving on to a polisher and polishing compound (rouge).

You don't need to chrome it if you use enough elbow grease.

Polished lowers

Mine polished up well, they look almost chromed.

I got a polisher to do it for me his biggest problem was getting the oil seal covers off before using paint stripper.
