Well, this may seem like a dumb question but I cannot find a clear explanation in the manual regarding checking the gearbox oil level and changing it.

First, How do you check the level?
Second, where do you out the oil in? Is it the clutch adjustement cover?

Also, who is the best source for gasket and other parts for classic Triumphs. Especially NOS parts.

Thanks,
Wayne

hi , whj , i've really no idea on a '47 , but on the newer there's a large hex bolt with a smaller screwed into it on the underside of the gearbox. the larger contains a tube a couple inches tall . you then remove the smaller center one and fill til it comes out the center hole . then replace the center plug/bolt.

in my travels i've seen very little on the pre '60's bikes .

welcome though :)
