What sprocket ratio are you starting with? Numbers should be stamped on the OEM sprockets.
I have an 09 America (first year 865cc EFI here in the states). I believe the earlier 790cc Speedmasters (Americas?) were geared a good bit lower. Mine had an 18T/42T sprocket set when new (and DID525 chain). After a few mods and getting used to the engine I felt it needed to be geared down slightly and I changed to a 17T front sprocket. Liked the change and have stayed with the 17T/42T combo. While not high revving sport bikes or low rev torque monsters, our motors do like to rev a bit. Going up (or down) a tooth on the front sprocket is not hard to do and not a high dollar DIY project. And it is easily reversible if the effect is not to your liking.

This is a late reply as i am figuring out what to get and how i am doing it. But when i installed the TTP it totally changed the power band. I always thought it was too low also but now it's sweet. Still accidentally gearing down into first at slow speed even after a few years which i never did the first 10 years of riding my 06 without the TTP. Dropped the r's by a few hundred. Still curious about combining that with a 17 front tho
