On my 2003 T100, I have just noticed that the little rubber cap that sits over the nipple to the rear of the rightside carb has melted. No backfiring has occurred, any ideas why this has happened?

the correct caps are made from rubber; plastic caps are seriously degraded by heat.

The Triumph OEM caps are much more substantial than any aftermarket caps, they're worth the extra money. I bought a half-dozen and have them in reserve.

Hello Julie - welcome aboard, and glad to have you here! No need for me to add my echo about the oem rubber caps - I have to go and get some more myself, just wanted to say Hi!
