Ok now what do I do. Can't get rear seat to release. Don't want to twist key to hard for fear of damage. Tried placing weight, my butt, on rear seat than turning key. Will still not release.

Any suggestion??????

Got it. Had to remove the side panel that covers the lock. That was a trick. Than unbolt the lock and give the cable a couple of jerks and it released. what a pita. Will see if I can clean it up a bit to make it slide easier.

There's a knack...

Turn the key and keep it turned with your left hand - then with the palm of your right hand deliver a hefty blow to the rear of the (rear) seat. Always works, no harm done...

Yeah tried that one, with a few words to suggest it move. Have done that in the past and it worked but not this time. Sprayed it with WD40 to hopefully loosen it up. May wrap a backup wire just in case it happens again.
