I ran at the flats in conjunction with the Bonneville vintage GP held at Miller Motorsports Park Sept. 16-17. The Utah salt flats racing assoc. puts on a run what you brung class- $130 for five timed runs. I ran my Thruxton Cup Legal Thruxton through at 115.998 with a 16 tooth sprocket at 7900 RPM. Next year the run will be after the GP which will be held the weekend of Sept. 7-9. This is a better time to visit the flats because the temps are in the 80's instead of triple digits when speedweek and Bub hold their's. You can get particulars from the Bonneville GP website. It's worth the trip just to see the vintage racing at the track (380+ entries this year- probably more next) and see the same racers run on the salt. Next year I plan to run the same bike, but with some modification to try to run 125. Can't wait! By the way, with D and D's and de-snorkeled airbox, I ran 115 mains and 1 shim. I have a Wideband Commander on my bike so this is accurate jetting for this altitude. Contact me at [email protected] if you need more info about this meet.
