So who read the UK MCN this week and saw the picture of what the new Tiger should have looked like. It was called a TRE-K and had Benelli on the tank and it was wearing knobblies. What a fantastic looking machine.

Sorry I don't know how or whether we're allow to post the picture on here.

I have to admit I was impressed as well.

I saw a basic TRE at the Gmex a couple of weeks ago and that looked good, but this looks the 'bees knees'.

However what would put me of is reliability, depreciation and spare availability.

Reading between the lines, they are not the most reliable of bikes. Depreciation could potentially be horrendous and if you do try to keep one for a few years, would you be able to get spares.

Anybody remember the Benelli sei. (sorry giving my age away here). These were inline 6 cylinders in 250, 500 and 750 I seem to recall. Basically copies of Hondas.

I bet if there are any on these around now they are in the shed, laid up, due to non availability of any spares what so ever.

As good as it looks, unless I win the lottery and money does not become a problem, I guess I will stick to my Tiger for now.

Looking forward to a Tiger adventurer.

Plus already been posted (with photo) -

Tre K Thread

I saw that thread but this bike, whilst based on that TRE-K has knobblies fitted and so, looks quite different.

As for spares etc. we'll see. I bet there'll be a few on the road soon because there's always someone who doesn't want the BMW and want's to stand out and be different. So, we'll let them do the testing.
