I cant figure out where the battery strap on my 99 daytona 955i connects. I am assuming it is supposed to run from back to front, not side to side, can anyone confirm

Also the battery box has a built in/molded clip on the front which seems to be there to hold the ECU in place but there is nothing on the back of my battery box for it to hook into. Maybe I am missing some sort of clip?

Pic of what yours look like would be much appreciated

Martin

Post script this is pretty much the last thing I have to figure out before the bike is all back together! just in time for winter of course...

A picture would be handy but there a moulded slot at the front of the battery box for the obdc socket to sit in.
mines a later bike so might different but the end of the battery strap just hooks into a slot cut in the front of the box

well I figured out the issue. Apparently the previous owner removed a battery tray that goes inside the battery box space (see pic attached). I didnt know this was supposed to be there so now its time to add that to my next order sheet. Every time I think I'm finished on this bike, its one more thing but hopefully this will be the last little bit and my restoration will finally be finished!

Thanks to all for the assistance!

To be honest I just have the battery sit in the box.
the leads to the terminals keep it in place.
especially if you’ve done the ignition / starter motor / battery wiring upgrade as detailed in the upgrades section.
