Howdy-- been a while since I posted here.

I replaced the battery yesterday as a precaution, it's still exhibiting the same symptoms. The bike'll run for a while, but it slowly drains the battery, until the bike refuses to start.

My multimeter shows that the battery voltage is 12.1v while the bike is on instead of the 14v it should be; what's my next diagnostic step?

I'm hoping this one won't be horrifically expensive...

Yeah, my apologies. Since I posted the thread, I checked the charging fuse-- it's intact. I guess what I'm looking for is my next potential point of attack-- I hate to admit defeat and hand it to the dealer to deal with, but replacing an alternator's a bit beyond me...

Your next point of effort is to read some of the earlier threads. If you have specific questions after that, ask away. Someone will probably be able to help.

Whatever you do, use a systematic approach and keep notes.

At this point, thinking you need to replace an alternator is premature.

I might have missed it, but I don't think you have provided any info about your bike. It would help to do so.
