Battery Doc question

I just purchased a Battery Doc for my 02 Sprint. I have it plugged into the accessory outlet on the bike. I looked at the manual and it said the outlet need to be on all the time.

Is the accessory outlet on the Sprint "hot" all the time, or does the ignition need to be on?

It's always hot....lots of guys do exactly what you are trying...including me...
